Antoine Residence
Sponsored
by the Diocese of Providence, Saint Antoine Residence in North
Smithfield is a nursing facility of 260 skilled nursing beds
with a 60-bed special care unit for individual with Alzheimer's
and related dementia. Saint Antoine Residence was established
in 1913 in Woonsocket, moving to North Smithfield in 1940. The
Residence employs 350 and engages 150 volunteers. The facility
adheres to the Diocesan mission and long tradition of caring
for the sick and the elderly. Also included on the Saint Antoine
campus is a 25 bed subacute transitional care unit and a 76
apartment assisted living known as The Villa at Saint Antoine.

Special Care Unit
The
Special Care Unit is a 60-bed unit for residents with Alzheimer's
and related dementias.
The
Unit provides a safe, structured environment that meets physical,
emotional, social, and spiritual needs throughout the disease
progression. An emphasis is placed on residents succeeding,
dignity, and support of family members.

Sub-Acute
Care Program
The
25-bed Transitional Care Unit at St. Antoine Residence is designed
to assist medically complex patients achieve their health care
goals within a defined time frame. The Transitional Care Unit
focuses on rehabilitation and recovery. It provides the link
between hospital and home for those patients who are in need
of specialized services to achieve their maximum level of functioning.
Ongoing assessment and re-evaluation ensure that these goals
are consistently being met.
